While diluted earnings per share for the period came in at $0.35, above an analyst estimate of $0.28, revenue came in at $11.28 billion, flat year-over-year but above the $11.22 billion expected by analysts.</p><p>The company’s troubles continue in its Greater China market, where revenue fell 7% to $1.62 billion. However, the company clocked growth in its home market in North America as revenue climbed 3% to $5.03 billion.</p><p>Nike’s gross profit margin slid 130 basis points to 40.2%, primarily owing to higher tariffs in North America. &nbsp;</p><p>Nike is currently in the middle of a multi-year turnaround strategy led by CEO Elliott Hill, who took over in late 2024 to reverse a period of slowing sales and lost market share. The turnaround involves repairing relations with retailers after a former direct-to-consumer push and cleaning up excess inventory, among other measures.</p><p>Nike said on Tuesday that it ended the quarter with $8.49 billion in inventory, down 1% from the corresponding quarter last fiscal year primarily reflecting a decrease in units and product mix shifts but partially offset by increased product costs, primarily due to Trump’s tariffs.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Q4 Outlook of Nike</h2><p>The company now expects fourth quarter revenue to be down 2%-4%, owing to declines in Greater China and Converse brand revenues.</p><p>For the remaining calendar year, the company expects revenues to be down “low single digits” versus the prior year, with gains in North America offset by declines in Greater China.</p><p>“We expect the first quarter of fiscal 2027 to be the final quarter where higher tariffs continue to be a material year-over-year headwind to gross margin,” Nike CFO Matt Friend said while also warning that the company’s guidance presupposes that the geopolitical situation remains as is.</p><p>“...the environment around us has become increasingly dynamic, and we could experience unplanned volatility due to the disruption in the Middle East, rising oil prices, and other factors that could impact either input costs or consumer behavior. We are focused on what we can control, and these assumptions reflect the macro environment as it stands today,” he added.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Hill’s Turnaround Efforts</h2><p>In October, Hill highlighted the complexity involved in turning around the fortunes of a company like Nike.</p><p>“It’s gonna take a while. It’s not linear. But it is a portfolio, and ultimately the goal is to have the entire portfolio all working together to drive the revenue and the profit that we hope to deliver for all of our investors,” Hill said in an interview.</p><p>Hill reiterated the opinion on Tuesday and said, “"This quarter we took meaningful actions to improve the health and quality of our business. Nike Edges Lower Despite Q3 Win Amid Tariff-Related Worries, Weak Q4 Guidance

In the crashes that occurred in 2024, BlueCruise failed to stop for stationary vehicles, it said.</p><p>Ford shares edges about 1% lower after hours at the time of writing.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Probe Takeaways</h2><p>Following the probe, the agency called for standardized performance requirements for automated vehicle tech while noting that there are several gaps in oversight at present. The probe also highlighted issues with Ford’s BlueCruise implementation, noting that the drivers can disengage Ford’s automatic emergency braking system when using it.</p><p>The NTSB has issued recommendations to the U.S. Department of Transportation, as well as Ford, calling for crash data recording and automatic crash notification requirements, improved driver monitoring systems to detect distraction, and changes to Ford’s BlueCruise system to reduce excessive speeding.</p><p>“This investigation highlights the urgent need for stronger safety standards and better oversight of automated driving systems,” said NTSB chairwoman Jennifer Homendy. “Manufacturers and federal regulators must ensure these technologies are designed, monitored and implemented in ways that keep all our road users safe. We cannot take a ‘hands off’ approach to hands-free driving technology. Lives depend on it.”</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">The Accidents</h2><p>NTSB said that one of the crashes occurred in San Antonio in Feb. 2024. A Ford traveling east in the center lane of Interstate 10 struck a stationary 1999 Honda CR-V, killing the Honda driver while the Ford driver sustained minor injuries.</p><p>In the second crash that occurred in Philadelphia in March 2024, the &nbsp;Ford traveling north in the left lane of Interstate 95 struck two stationary vehicles—a 2012 Hyundai Elantra and a 2006 Toyota Prius—causing them to collide with a passing Toyota Corolla. Ford Stock Dips After Hours As NTSB Blames Overreliance On Automated Tech For Fatal Crashes

<ul><li>The judge also said that the motion for her recusal “rests on a false premise.”</li><li>According to a report from Reuters, Tesla shareholder David Wagner dismissed his 2022 case against the Tesla board after McCormick posted the letter.</li><li>Musk has attacked McCormick several times since she ruled against his 2018 pay package &nbsp;stating that the company's board breached their fiduciary duties to shareholders by approving it.</li></ul><p><br>Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Court of Chancery said on Monday that she will reassign three cases against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and its board members following allegations that she supported a social media post which raises questions of bias.</p><p>McCormick said in a letter addressed to legal teams involved in three lawsuits that she is not biased against Musk, while noting that she dismissed a suit against the billionaire last year. She also <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://t.co/h8ObdXaHh4">said</a> that the motion for her recusal “rests on a false premise.” Tesla had pushed for her recusal based on a screenshot of the judge’s support for a Linkedin post that congratulated the legal teams which led a separate federal securities fraud case against ​Musk.</p><p>“...disproportionate media attention surrounding a judge’s handling of an action is detrimental to the administration of justice. &nbsp;Fortunately, the Court of Chancery is far greater than any one person,” the judge said in a letter. She also called upon the legal teams who sought the change to contact her Chambers and obtain a time for a random reassignment of the cases.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Shareholder Dismisses Case</h2><p>According to a <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/delaware-judge-accused-bias-reassigns-musk-cases-2026-03-30/">report</a> from Reuters, Tesla shareholder David Wagner dismissed his 2022 case against the Tesla board after McCormick posted the letter. His was one of the three cases that the judge had chosen to reassign.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">McCormick Vs. Musk</h2><p>Musk has attacked McCormick several times since she ruled against his 2018 pay package &nbsp;stating that the company's board breached their fiduciary duties to shareholders by approving it. The Delaware Supreme Court reinstated the package in December 2025.</p><p>Musk has since then moved Tesla's state of incorporation out of Delaware and into Texas. Tesla Scores Court Reassignment in Musk Cases as Judge Blasts Bias Motion

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Flat or more growth in Model Y/3 delivery numbers would demonstrate stability following the expiration of tax credit on the purchase of new electric vehicles in the U.S., he said.&nbsp;</li><li>Deepwater estimates that about 40% of Tesla’s overall sales come from the U.S., of which about three quarters took advantage of the now-expired tax credit.</li><li>Model S/X delivery numbers are ignorable, provided the vehicles are slated to end production in the second quarter, Munster said.</li></ul><p>Tesla Inc.’s (TSLA) Model Y and 3 deliveries will be the prime focus when the EV giant announces its first quarter delivery numbers next week, according to Deepwater Asset Management managing partner Gene Munster.</p><p>Munster expects Tesla’s Model 3/Y delivery numbers will be at about 330,000 units, lower than Wall Street estimate of 351,000 units. “If Model 3 &amp; Y deliveries come in at 324k or better (vs. the Street at 351k), it is a win for TSLA shares,” he <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://genemunster.com/tesla-delivery-preview-march-is-the-first-read-on-true-demand-focus-on-model-y-3/">said</a> in a statement, while adding that this would demonstrate stability following the expiration of tax credit on the purchase of new electric vehicles in the U.S.</p><p>Deepwater estimates that about 40% of Tesla’s overall sales come from the U.S., of which about three quarters took advantage of the now-expired tax credit.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Overall Q1 Numbers</h2><p>The analyst now expects overall delivery volume in the three months through the end of March to come in at 345,000 units, marking a growth of 2%, but below a Wall Street estimate of about 366,000 units.</p><p>While Tesla investors are now eyeing other developments at the company, including the development of its robotaxi network and improvement in the performance of its full self-driving driver assistance software, among others, “deliveries still matter,” Munster said.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Munster’s Delivery Estimates</h2><p>Model S/X delivery numbers are ignorable, provided the vehicles are slated to end production in the second quarter, Munster said. The e-commerce giant acquired the Israeli chip startup Annapurna in 2015 for $350 million and Hutt has been one of the key spokespeople for the company’s Trainium chips, the report noted.</p><p>Amazon Trainium is a family of custom-designed AI accelerators developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) for high-performance training and inference of deep learning and generative AI models. The Trainium business has grown rapidly in recent months, driven largely by Anthropic’s extensive use of the chips to power its Claude AI models.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Other High Profile Exits At Amazon</h2><p>The Information noted that Hutt is the second Annapurna leader to depart in the past seven months after Rami Sinno left to join Arm Holdings in August. Sinno was director of engineering at Annapurna Labs.</p><p>Other major exits at Amazon in recent times include the departure of Rohit Prasad, the company’s senior vice president and head scientist for artificial general intelligence (AGI), at the end of 2025 after leading its AGI organization and broader AI efforts. David Luan, head of Amazon’s AGI Lab, also left last month.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Retail Traders React?</h2><p>Shares of AMZN closed down 2% and edged up 0.2% after hours on Thursday. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Previously, the cost for Standard with ads was $7.99 per month and the Standard plan was $17.99 per month.</li><li>The company also said that it has discontinued its basic plan and users can change their plan at any time.</li><li>TD Cowen said that these increases could flow through to existing users in the coming months.</li></ul><p>Netflix (NFLX) shares jumped more than 2% on Thursday after it raised its Standard subscription prices in the U.S., a step that has garnered positive commentary from Wall Street.</p><p>The streaming giant also said that it has discontinued its basic plan and users can change their plan at any time.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">New Prices</h2><p>A Netflix "Plans and Pricing" page for the United States showed that its Standard with ads plan will now be priced at $8.99 per month while its Standard plan will be priced at $19.99 per month.&nbsp;</p><p>Previously, the cost for Standard with ads was $7.99 per month and the Standard plan was $17.99 per month.&nbsp;</p><p>The new prices are in place for new subscribers, however, the company didn’t mention any specific date for these changes in prices to become effective for the existing subscribers.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Analyst Take</h2><p>TD Cowen analyst John Blackledge noted that Netflix raised monthly fees for new U.S. sign-ups, estimating that its increases across tiers represent an 11% increase on average across the product suite.</p><p>The firm said that these increases could flow through to existing users in the coming months.
