U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said escorts for vessels through the vital Strait of Hormuz chokepoint would begin “as soon as militarily possible.” Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said late Thursday that the country would continue to block the shipping channel.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Trump Getting Blamed For Gasoline Prices</h2>About 48% of Americans are reportedly blaming U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the rise in gas prices, as per Morning Consult survey data showed to Axios.&nbsp;U.S. equities fell on Friday. At the time of writing, the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (SPY), which tracks the S&amp;P 500 index, was down 0.3%, the Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (QQQ) dived 0.4%, while the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) was flat.&nbsp;

To address this, the Trump administration plans to issue 30-day temporary waivers permitting foreign tankers to deliver fuel from the Gulf Coast.Also,&nbsp;the IEA warned of the “largest supply disruption” in the global oil market as traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has nearly stopped, even though the route normally carries about one-fifth of the world’s crude oil shipments.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Hegseth Confident In Military Plan</h2>He stressed that Iran lacks the capacity to rebuild its military infrastructure quickly, signaling that U.S. operations will soon dismantle the country’s defense companies and production capabilities.<blockquote>“They also don't have the ability to build more. Soon and very soon, all of Iran’s defense companies will be destroyed.”-Pete Hegseth, U.S. Defense Secretary</blockquote>He added that Iran’s newly appointed supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has suffered injuries and is likely left disfigured.&nbsp;“Iran’s leadership is in no better shape. Desperate and hiding, they have gone underground, cowering,” stated Hegseth.At the time of writing, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures maturing in April traded nearly 2% lower at nearly $94 a barrel, and Brent crude futures expiring in May were down nearly 1% at $99 a barrel. According to Leon Gross, director of research at S3 Partners, the squeeze score climbed above 70 three times last year, but the stock ”never actually squeezed.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">COIN Stock Lags S&amp;P 500, Bitcoin</h2>The report also noted that Coinbase remains highly sensitive to moves in the crypto market. S3 data showed the stock has a 0.60 correlation with Bitcoin and a 0.69 correlation with Robinhood Markets (HOOD), while also maintaining a 0.52 correlation with the S&amp;P 500.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/HOOD">HOOD’s stock</a> gained over 1% in pre-market trade on Friday.
