How did you get interested in trading?

Paper traded at a very early age, 13! After learning more and more about the markets, I finally dived in at the age of 20.


What asset classes do you trade and what is your approach?

I only trade stocks, and tend to use more of a day-trading and swing-trading approach.


What were your best and worst trades ever?

Best trades: shorting and longing the airlines in the spring and summer of 2008 as a proxy for oil. Worst trades ever are the ones that aren't thought out, the emotional ones.


How did you find out about StockTwits?

From @howardlindzon. I've been a part of the community since the beginning.


How would you advice new traders to make the most of StockTwits?

First, check out the full stream for a while. This will help you see who the active participants are. Then head over to the specific ticker pages, and check out whats being said about the tickers that interest you.


What trading platform do you use and why?

TD Ameritrade- I've always been with them. I use their Command Center 2.0.


What do you listen to while trading?

Random YouTube music videos, and on big news days, CNBC.


Who was your mentor? How did he/she affect your trading?

I kind of mentored myself.


What do you enjoy away from the trading screens?

I love working with animals, working out at the gym, enjoying the great outdoors (snowboarding, hiking, cycling) and spending time with friends.


What is your favorite investing/trading book?

I'm not a big book person, I gain all of my knowledge from credible sources on the internet.
